Preparing for the countdown

This past week has been exhausting for me. It was the first full week I have worked in the past three and with the holiday this coming week I have another 4 day work week. Then after that the countdown is on, I will have less than a month until I make my trip to Ohio. That trip has been a long time coming, I haven't made it to Ohio since December. Normally by this time I have already made one trip and am getting ready to make a second in about 2 weeks. This is the first year, I haven't made it to Ohio for either Jessie's actual birthday or her party and I have never missed the twins' birthday. I am missing both this year. That is okay, it will only make the reunion that much more precious.

I am actually going to Ohio at that time to attend a wedding of a girl that I held in my arms when she was like 3 weeks old. It has been an amazing journey to watch her grow into a beautiful young women, but my goodness does it make me feel old. I got carded the other day while I was buying smokes (no mom they weren't for me) and the guy looked at my licenses and laughed!

Beyond all that excitement, Shane and I have been spending a lot of time at the lake fishing with friends. Yes, it has been extremely hot, but it also nice to get away from the apartment during the work week and just kick back and clear my head. I have been doing a lot of experimentation with the manual settings of my camera while at the lake.
