Help . . . I am without my iPhone

To some people that is a blessing, to not have their phone buzzing, ringing or yelling quirky comedic ring tones at them. To me it is a disaster. I am Amy Veasey and I am a cell phone addict. Twitter, facebook, text messages and e - mail, there is always something to play with. Some information out there just waiting for me to find.

Now that I have made my confession, let's take a step back.

On Friday, Shane and Matt travel to Missouri for Shane's final football game, so I decided to do a little shopping. About half way through my evening my phone started acting up. So being the tech sauvy person that I am, I banged on it a few times with my palm (that works sometimes, ya know), I turned it off and back on and even went as far as to reset it. Usually with my stubborn iPhone this sequence does the trick. But that night, nothing was helping. I could only partially respond to text messages because 1/2 the touch screen wasn't working. I believe I called Karen 3 times because I thought I was hitting one button and it was really another. So being the adult that I am, I stopped off at the liquor store for a soothing bottle of wine and went home and dug out my old phone. Now, I am not talking about the last model I had, I am talking about an oooollllld phone, one that has a miniscule screen, a battery that won't last through one phone call and no QWERTY key pad. ugh!

Saturday morning, I stopped into my cell phone carrier only to find out that the only ones that can work on an iPhone is Apple. Which in my mind means I am going to spend an arm and a leg AND have to send it off for weeks to determine what it wrong with it. So for the rest of the weekend, I tried texting with T9 and predict a text, which made me reallly question my addiction to my cell phone.

Finally, I spoke with an Apple representative and he had good news for me. My iPhone was still under warranty. Which left me with three options, send it off the company who determine that it was really not working and send me back a replacement. Option 2, the company would put a $500 hold on my credit card and send me out a replacement phone. When they recieved mine and determined that it was truely not working they would remove the hold. Or, finally I could drive to KC to the closest Apple store and take care of it there. I was at wits end. The thought of being without my iPhone for over a week was enough to spin me out of control. I seriously considered driving to Kansas City. But in the end I drank another glass or two of wine and sent it off. So here I sit with my POC phone in my hand waiting and waiting and waiting.
