All about 2010

1. What did you do in 2010 that you’d never done before?
Bought a home

2. Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Like I have stated in the past, I'm not usually one to make resolutions, last year I did decide to set a goal for myself. I planed to digitize all of my old pictures.Unfortunately, I didn't get it done. I couldn't find a great way to accomplish it. I have not set a resolution this year.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Sunni and Curt had baby boy Gage on Oct 17th, Melanie and her husband had twin boys Asher and Nathan on Sept 15th and Stevie and his fiancee, Sarah had baby boy Griffin on Dec 23rd

4. Did anyone close to you die?
Shane's Aunt Bea passed away, she was the matriarch of their family and will be deeply missed.

5. What countries did you visit?
I did not venture outside of the U.S.A

6. What would you like to have in 2011 that you lacked in 2010?
I am not asking for much this year I would like new living room furniture, a new bedroom set and a dining room table.

7. What dates from 2010 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Jan 12th - Haiti Earthquake (7.0 on the richter scale), April 20th - an explosion on the Deepwater Horizon oil rig off the coast of Louisiana. The oil spill leaked 5 million barrels of oil along the Gulf Coast, making it the world's largest spill of its kind. Oct 12th - 33 chilean miners were rescued after being trapped for 68 days following a cave in

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Shane and I buying our own home.

9. What was your biggest failure?
I don't know that I have one. I don't believe anything is a failure if you learn from it.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
No, knock on wood. Not even the usual respiratory stuff tht lays me out for a week.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
I am starting to sound like a broken record. Our home, even though we haven't technically bought it yet. We have 30 years until that happens.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Shane's, patients is a virtue and he is learing that. Taking life in stride and dealing with each situation as it comes at him vs letting it accumulate and blow up all at once.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
I'd have to say celebrities like Lindsay Lohan and Mylie Cyrus. Many little girls look up to these woman as role models and they are not setting a very good example. Unfortunately there has been any repercussions for their actions either. They present life as one big party.

14. Where did most of your money go?
Home embellishments, it has been fun and amazing!

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Loosing a house guest :( even though I still feel awful saying it.

16. What song will always remind you of 2010?
I don't think I can name one that brings any particular memories to mind.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you: a) happier or sadder? b) thinner or fatter? c) richer or poorer?
Happier, fatter and richer

18. What do you wish you’d done more of?
Exercise, it helps me both physically and mentally. But I aloud myself to get wrapped up in to many other things in my life and didn't make time.

19. What do you wish you’d done less of?
Spend money frivolously

20. How did you spend Christmas?
Shane and I had his mom and John D over, Shane grilled a pork loin on his new grill. It was first for us.

21. Did you fall in love in 2010?
Over and over again

22. What was your favorite TV program?
Bones, Grey's Anatomy, NCIS and CSI

23. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
Hate is a very strong word

24. What was the best book you read?
I can't pin it down to one book. I started reading new authors I enjoy, Catherine Anderson and Barbara Delinsky, for example. I did receive a Nook reader for Christmas which has been amazing

25. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Discovery? Can’t think of any.

26. What did you want and get?
A new home

27. What did you want and not get?
I am ready fo a new vehicle, Thinking a Ford Edge or Fusion. As much driving as I do I am afraid my Jeep isn't going to hold up. I had to many problemswithin the first yuear.
28. What was your favorite film of this year?


29. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I turned 36, birthdays are getting more difficult to swallow, 40 is looming. But Shane surprised me by taking me out to dinner at Red Beans. We had a wonderful evening. We spent my birthday up in Burlingame with his family. Which is always wonderful.

30. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
My trips to Ohio to visit my family.
31. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2010?
Embellishments, embellishments, embellishments!

32. What kept you sane?
I live in Kansas with Shane and have been here 9 years. I don't know that I would call that sane.

33. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Sandra Bullock, Jeremy Piven and Morgan Freeman

34. What political issue stirred you the most?
Health care debates

35. Who did you miss?
My family and friends in Ohio/Michigan

36. Who was the best new person you met?
Sarah Steve's Fiancee. Anybody who can make him smile like she does is ok in my book.
