Griffin Family reunion weekend

This past weekend was Shane's family reunion weekend. As always it was filled with food, fellowship and Griffin Antics. It started for us on Saturday we spent the evening out on the deck with beers, guitars and unwinding from the week. I've been doing a lot of unwinding lately. Can't quite get the ebb and flow of the new job. I am either busier than I want to be or not busy enough. Which I guess is with any position, but this time the ebb and flow not only effects my sanity, it effects my pocketbook. But I digress.

This years reunion had a bit of a somber feel to it. It had rained all night, so we were forced inside. Had a lot of new to me faces which was nice to see, but a key member of the family was missing and the presence of Aunt Bea was greatly missed. After everyone was well fed, we headed next door to the room that Aunt Bea's memorial was held in only 3 weeks prior, for the family meeting and the auction.

The family meeting had some pee in your pants moments though. The family held a "family look a like contest". . .

That night Shane and I headed back to Uncle Tim's and Aunt Kylin's for the night. Again lots of food, family, more guitars and beers. I think I have mentioned before, but this is my home away from home. I am more relaxed there than anywhere I can run. If I could ever catch Shane in a weak moment, we would more out there.

That evening we sat out on the porch and watched a storm move through. Wasn't as violent as it could have been, areas around us had 80 mph winds. The storm actually split Burlingame and went right
around us.

All in all a wonderful weekend, we spent Monday slowly meandering back to the TA. Which upon arrival Shane and Matt headed to the lake to fish and I layed on my couch with a book. Perfectly quiet end to a jam packed weekend.
