I had a moment this weekend when time stood still. Doesn't happen very often. . . But I am getting ahead of myself, let me start at the beginning. . .
Saturday Shane had his first home game, it was a nice day. Lots of family and friends came out to support him and the team and they played well. They are starting to look like a cohesive unit. 4th down, mid way through the 2nd quarter Shane was back to punt the ball, the snap was bad. Shane scrambled to protect the ball and he was pile drived into the ground. The next couple of seconds seemed like hours as the 3 over sized giants were pulled off of him. And that is when time stopped completely, Shane did not get up. If you have met me, you know that I am a worrier and this event scared the life out of me. All I kept hearing in my head is me telling Shane "you are a 36 year old man who has no business playing football."
In the end they lost the game by a point.
After what seemed like hours, he stood up on his own recognizance.I should add at this point that I showed considerable restraint. I only stepped down 2 levels of the bleachers. I refrained from running onto the field, which is what I really wanted to do. In the end he was fine, a stiff neck for about 3 days and his nose was pretty banged up from his helmet, but he survived to play another game.

Oh wow, I had no idea! That's very intense—I'm glad he's ok...and has a 24/7 PT. =)
