Happy 4th everyone

With the 4th of July being on a weekend I was lucky enough to have a long weekend. So the 3 of us, Shane Matt and I decided to take a spontaneous little va-ca. It was definately needed. We have been a little crazy at work. Which is a two sided coin, I love the money in my pocket, but it can make for a long week. But in the end, if I am tired and a bit crazed I only have myself to blame. But I digress.

Shane did not have a football game that weekend, so we were able to get up early Saturday morning and drive to poo poo mizzou. It was a nice easy drive, especially from the back seat. We spent our evening, once we got into the Lake of the Ozarks, driving around scoping out restaurants. Our first stop was a liquor store (I know, not so surprising) But it was an interesting experience for me. Shane wasn't real sure what he wanted and was wandering aimlessly around the store. He was approached by one of the employees and after a bit of a discussion, the guy was opening travel size bottles for us to try. It was quite an experience for me. After trying a Seagrams, a wild Turkey and a couple of others we decided on a Seagrams with honey. It was a mazingly smooth and just a touch sweet. Dinner that night was at a local restaurant where the boys had all you can eat shrimp and catfish and of course Long Islands for dessert. It was the perfect way to unwind.

Sunday we played the tourist part starting the day at the outlet mall where I talked myself out of 3 different pair of tennis shoes. But I did not hold back at Harry and David's or Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. In retrospect the tennis shoes probably would have been a better investments. After a lunch of all you can eat Breakfast, we spent the afternoon at the water park. It was intense, 5 slides and a wave pool, but we definately showed our age. It was n't long ago that I could have done that all day. But, after about 3 hrs I was tired of climbing stairs, tired of climbing hills, tired of jumping in the wave pull, just plain exhausted.  But all in all a good day. Went back to the hotel and napped until dinner, watched the fireworks display and than crashed for the night.

Monday night Shane had practice, so we headed home, no passing go, no collecting $200 dollar, just directly home. All in all a great, weekend.
