This weekend, Shane had his second game in Columbia, Missouri. Matt and I decided to go and make a road trip out of it.
Late Friday night, first stop, Burlingame at Aunt Kylin and Uncle Tim's. We didn't get in until almost 11pm, but it is always a relaxing stop. Sitting out on the deck, having a beer overlooking the cemetery. Plus it put us 2 hrs closer to our final destination.

Saturday we made a quick jaunt through KC and made our way into Columbia. Again, a college town I have never had the pleasure of visiting before this weekend. We checked into the hotel, which was comical, the hotel was just a bed for me, but it was an adventure for Shane. He was impressed by 2 beds, a television and an amazing shower head. But I digress. From there we headed to the football field, it was a step up from the previous one they played on, however the level of play was not. After forcing the first game into over time and only losing by 3, the Diamondbacks lost their ass to Columbia 54 - 0. They didn't get out played, they actually beat themselves. Shane didn't even have a chance to kick a field goal or the point after secondary to the team being unable to pull anything together offensively or complete a long snap.
But the old man has still got it.
Sunday: In true Shane fashion, we decided to take a different route home. The first couple of hours were amazing, we traveled south and picked up US 54 which took us through the Lake of the Ozarks.
It was a nice little town, had a Port Aransas feel. So we played tourist and stopped in a couple of the shops, bought a few knick knacks and some homemade candy. Came across a Shoney's, which I haven't eaten in since I was a kid. They have the best breakfast buffet, it was a amazing.
Unfortunately, it was all down hill from there. When we hit El Dorado Springs, I knew we were in for a long haul. What should have been a 5 hour car ride home ended up taking us 8. The worst of it though, we choose to take the Jeep secondary to it have a/c, but it was in desperate need of brake pads. So every small town we went through was like nails on a chalk board. Needless to say by the end of that trip I needed to replace my rotors as well :(

Wow, awesome pics! Fun adventures! =)
