Weekend Update . . . with Amy Veasey

Friday night I was a stress ball. I left work at 7:30, only half finished with everything, but my brain was so frazzled nothing more was going to get accomplished. I called my mom on the way home in tears not knowing which way was up at the moment. My wonderful mother, who understands my heart better than anybody, cleared the cobwebs from my brain and brought a smile back to my face. By the time I got home I was better, but I must have looked rough when I walked into the apartment, because Shane made some phone calls and we headed out to the lake. The lake is a very peaceful place for me, the boys light a grand fire, I hear the water lapping against the shore (which is my favorite sound) and my company had a very quirky sense of humor. There was also plenty of Jerry to go around and after all of that I couldn't have been more relaxed. It was wonderful.

Saturday evening I met some friends for "He's just not that into you" followed by dinner at Sumo's. All in all it was a good night. The movie was quirky and cute, it did hold my attention for 2 hours and 20 minutes, but not my favorite. Dinner resembled a scene from mean girls, but the expected company was wonderful.

Sunday morning I accompanied Shane to his softball practice. The trip was 2 fold for me. First I am still learning how to use my digital camera so it gave me a new venue and activity to shoot that wasn't my cats. Second, it was a beautiful day and the sun was shining and I am so ready for the nice weather. So I took a blanket and a book and layed in the sun. It was the culmination of a relaxing weekend.

That evening, I ventured out to Sunni's mom's house for Oscar night. I gorged myself on potato soup (yum), homemade apple pie (delicious), popcorn and laughed until my sides hurt. It was fellowship at it's best

  1. Sounds like a wonderful weekend to me...if you could X out the Friday work stress.

Love the fire pics from Friday night & your action shots from Sunday morning were great! I didn't think they were dark at all. Do you know about a 'white balance' setting on your camera? Sometimes that will make ALL the difference in the contrast/colors.
