I made it!

I am here, I made it into Ohio/ Michigan. It was no easy task though. First and for most, I was very disappointed to find out that the airline did away with my direct flight. So I had to go back to having a lay over. I arrived to the airport in Wichita 40 mins early, cleared security to discover that my plane was delayed 30 min. At which time, we, as passengers were assured that the crew was on hand, just giving them extra rest, no further delays and we would make all of our connecting flights secondary to the tail wind we were being blessed with. Should have recognized the foreshadowing in that statement. Boarded the plane on time, according to the new time, and sat and sat and sat. Finally the pilot came on and informed us that the plane was having computer problems and he was in contact with the control tower. He would keep us informed. Another 30 min later, He informed us that we were on our way, something about an airflow problem shutting down the computer. They just bypassed it and everything is fine. Not very reassuring, but can't really get off the plane at that point.

So onto the next leg, deplaned 10 min before my next plane was scheduled to take off, waited for my carry on bag and checked the board. To my surprise, my plane was delayed 15 min, that gives me enough time. . . right?!? So sprinted for 10 mins to the next terminal to find that the door was closed and I would have to catch another plane.

Was able to get another flight 2.5 hrs later. So I did a little airport shopping. A few good things did come out of this day. I found a case for my iphone that I like, learned how to properly apply the static cling screen protector, purchased a neck pillow with built in ipod speakers and was upgraded to first class on my final leg of the trip. Which was quite a surprise. Over all it was a good experience, all the chocolate I wanted and plenty of room in my seat. Back on the ground an hour and a half later a little worse for the wear, but I do have a full week to recoup, hopefully the next excursion goes a little better.

Have a great week

  1. Yuck...that does NOT sound pleasant. Here's to hoping things were MUCH better while you were on your trip!
