Midweek recap

Thus far, it has been a wonderful week. I spent Saturday evening with my good friend Steve, we had our usual beer and nachos. Unfortunately, the bar we were at ordered the live UFC fight that was on, not very good fights and really, really loud atmosphere which made it really difficult to carry on a conversation.

On Sunday, I drug my half hungover butt out of bed and we headed to my sisters. Jessie's 6th birthday was on Friday so my sister invited all the girls in her class over for a hair style/make up party on Sunday. 3 hours later, 4 heads of hair were styled, nails painted, faces beautified, cake and juice served and kids out the door, time for party number 2. This one was family, but had just as many kids and just as much sugar. The combination made for a really frenzied day for me. But Jessie enjoyed every bit of it.

Thankfully, the next couple of days have been really relaxing and enjoyable. Shopping and swinging, watching movies and reading books. Everyone is getting so big, Jessie is reading really well. Payton, who just idolizes her sister mimics her and tries to sound out the words in her books. She doesn't recognize the letter yet, but making up her own story and sounding out the words, hil - ar - ious. I give props to those of you who do it everyday. I am defiantly wore out and am only half way through my week.

Mom, Ape and I are taking an adult day tomorrow which consists of pedis, dinner and Wicked. I can hardly wait.

  1. Not sure I'm made of the motherhood stuff...sounds like a job that's far more intense than any I've ever experienced. April makes it look so easy. I hope your adult day was rockin'...I know it was!
